COVID-19 Vaccination Policy

Purpose:

At the heart of our approach is the health, safety and wellbeing of our staff, members, founders and wider network, and ensuring we can continue to operate our core business and deliver events safely and effectively under the Government’s Covid-19 Protection Framework or ‘traffic light’ system.

The vaccine policy will allow us greater certainty for our members and enable us to deliver events at all levels of the traffic light system. The policy has been developed following engagement with our team, and support for vaccine requirements from our members.

Scope and application:

The Covid-19 Vaccination Policy (the Policy) applies to all Enterprise Angels employees, contractors, Committees, the Enterprise Angels Board, and the Boards of EA Nominee and EA GP. The policy also sets out expectations of visitors to our workplace and at events run by Enterprise Angels. This includes members, customers attending face-to-face events and meetings, clients, guests, tradespeople and service providers/visitors.

From 1 January 2022, all Enterprise Angels face-to-face activities and events will require attendees, including staff, facilitators, guest speakers, and members to be fully vaccinated.

For the purposes of the Policy, being fully vaccinated means:

  • having received all doses of a government approved Covid-19 vaccine; and
  • providing Enterprise Angels with evidence of your vaccination. Proof or evidence of vaccination status requires the individual to show the Organisation any of the following: My Vaccine Pass to be scanned or vaccine certificate where vaccination is a requirement of your role or attendance, a letter or other official documentation from the Ministry of Health or GP

Medical exemptions

We are waiting for further guidance from the Government on how medical exemptions will be considered under the traffic light system.

Vaccination records of members

We will not be holding medical information about members. All event attendees will need to show valid evidence of vaccination for each event attended, regardless of membership status

How the policy applies to Enterprise Angels staff:

  • We have assessed the roles of all our people and the potential risk they pose to others in performing their role. If a role is designated as high-risk, being vaccinated and following other safety controls is a requirement. These are roles that deliver our face-to-face events with members and customers or regularly work in these environments, and includes our leadership team
  • If a role is designated as medium or lower risk staff will be required to be vaccinated or comply with all other safety controls at all times to mitigate risk of transmission. This will include physical distancing and wearing masks when meeting stakeholders, not attending any meetings or gatherings of 10 or more people, not attending any Enterprise Angels events or courses, and working from home when New Zealand is at levels orange and red of the Covid-19 Protection Framework and as otherwise required by The Vault building protocols.
  • To protect our people going forward, we will require all new employees be vaccinated as a condition of employment, excepting of course where it may discriminate on the grounds or religious beliefs, medical exemption or disability.

How the policy applies to Enterprise Angels Events:

  • Everyone attending Enterprise Angels events in-person will be required to be fully vaccinated from 1 January 2022.
  • Attendees at any in-person Enterprise Angels event will be asked to present their ‘My Vaccine Pass’ to be scanned or provide other official documentation.
  • By registering for an in-person event attendees are also agreeing to adhere to good hygiene and safety measures in place to mitigate the risk of spreading Covid-19. These measures are based on NZ Government guidance around physical distancing, good hygiene practices and contact tracing.
  • Prior to any event commencing registered attendees will be reminded that if they have any Covid-19 symptoms, have been at a location of interest recently, or if anyone in their household is awaiting a Covid-19 test/results, or is self-isolating, they should not attend the event, and that in most cases there will be livestreaming alternatives.
  • In some instances it may be necessary for the Enterprise Angels to cancel events because of Covid-19. Where this happens, attendees will be contacted prior to the event and options will be discussed.
  • Under all settings of the Covid-19 Protection Framework (Traffic Lights) most events are able to proceed with the use of Vaccination certificates. Some events may still be held in an exclusively online format where attendees and/or speakers are unable to attend due to travel restrictions.
  • We will maintain attendance lists for contract tracing & record keeping purposes – attendees will also be asked to scan the venue QR code on site or sign a register.
  • Enterprise Angels has mandatory protocols in place for all face-to-face events to ensure health and safety measures adhere to NZ Government guidelines. Failure to adhere to these safety measures may result in cancellation of your attendance.
  • All in person courses and events will have no more than 100 people in any defined indoor space when held under red settings.
  • Physical distancing of 1m will be required at courses and events held under red settings.
  • While it’s not mandatory, we support the wearing of a face covering.

Policy review

Our policy will be continuously reviewed to ensure that it continues to meet the needs of our members, keeps our people safe, and also adapts and responds to changes in the environment and as new government mandates or technologies come in to play.
