Portfolio Company, Engender, is acquired

Kiwi agritech firm that uses cell-sorting technology for livestock, has been acquired.

Engender Technologies was originally cofounded by University of Auckland Professor Cather Simpson, Auckland UniServices and Pacific Channel.

Ten savvy Enterprise Angels members invested in $250K plus into Engender starting in 2014, and received an excellent 5x return in November 2018.

Seven years after initial investment in Engender, a CRV-Ambreed has now acquired Engender and its unique cell sorting technology. That technology has potential to replace ‘flow cytometry’ in a number of applications – something that could be a significant innovation in the trillion-dollar global livestock market.
