Merlot Aero

Merlot Aero Limited, a New Zealand based private company, was a technology and thought leader in the provision and deployment of airline operations software globally.  

In December 2020, Merlot Aero was fully acquired by CAE International Holdings Limited, a 73-year-old publicly listed Company based in Montreal, Canada. The acquisition marks CAE’s expansion into digital flight crew management and allows them to provide an end-to-end offering of digitally enabled crew performance software and expertise that extends from training through optimized crew operations. CAE acquired 100% of the shares in Merlot for US$35,000,000 with US$10,000,000 of that subject to earn out milestones being met. EA Fund 1 first invested in 2015, and has realised a 2.6x return to date, with potential for a total 3.7x return if the full earnout milestones are met.
