Easy Crypto provides an easy-to-use platform for traders to buy, sell, trade, and learn about crypto. The cryptocurrency phenomenon has skyrocketed in 2021, with substantial growth in retail, institutional and government interest globally. At 14 March 2022, the global cryptocurrency market capitalisation was sitting in a bear market at $1.73tn, down from a high of $2.9tn in November 2021. Acting as a key driver of the Web3 movement, cryptocurrencies were changing the way we transact, by removing control from centralised institutions. These projects are built on blockchain technology, using code to ensure transactions and interactions are equitable, transparent, affordable, and free of human intervention. This technology is being seriously considered for development and regulation by many countries, including the United Kingdom, Singapore, and more recently, the United States – an important step in the validation of crypto.

After launching in 2018, the platform has since expanded throughout New Zealand, Australia and South Africa, and has staff in Southeast Asian countries including Malaysia and Indonesia.

In March 2025 Easy Crypto was acquired by Brisbane based Swyftx, creating a major trans-Tasman crypto powerhouse. The deal brings more assets, innovation, and growth for both platforms.

At that time Easy Crypto was NZ’s largest cryptocurrency trading platform with over 350,000 users. More than $3.5 billion worth of transactions had been made on the platform since its launch.
