John O'Donoghue

Meet John.  A long term Hamilton local, John holds a NZ Diploma in Business and had a 40 year career carrying out mainly senior management and executive roles in the Telecommunications space.  A member of IoD,  John founded and exited two companies including a boutique Telco,  Velocity Networks Ltd which become the first stage of the regional start-up Ultrafast Fibre network.  He was then a member of the executive involved in the sale of that entity to Australian investors.  

John joined as a member of Enterprise Angels Waikato chapter in 2014 and has invested directly in numerous angel investments as well as two of the EA Funds, Purpose Capital and several other VC funds.  A strong Waikato supporter,  John is currently Director of several small Waikato companies including a Māori led renewable energy startup.  John is a long standing Trustee and Chairman for local community broadcasting entity, Free FM in Waikato.
